Giorgio Armani Milano, per amore Exhibition

During my visit to Milan, I had the opportunity to attend Giorgio Armani's exhibition titled Milano, per amore – Milan, with love. The exhibition showcased more than 120 models from the iconic Italian fashion house, displayed in the historic Pinacoteca di Brera gallery. 'And honestly, it was truly a sight to behold.' The installation itself, set in such a magnificent environment, gave the entire exhibition an exceptional character.

The entire exhibition maps the creative journey of Giorgio Armani and the development of his aesthetics. The main idea was to connect fashion and art – fashion as a cultural and social language, not just as decoration. Great emphasis is placed on clean lines, colour neutrality, and precision of craftsmanship, characteristic features that are typical of the Giorgio Armani brand.
You may be wondering why the exhibition was situated in the Pinacoteca di Brera gallery. Giorgio Armani played an important role in shaping Milan as a fashion metropolis and had a strong personal connection to the Brera district. From his apartment, he had a view of the gallery and was also an honorary member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera, which was involved in its establishment.

This very connection of personal history, the city, and aesthetics makes the exhibition Milano, per amore exceptional – not just as a fashion retrospective, but as a cultural dialogue between fashion, art, and Milan.
The exhibition showcased models from various periods of Giorgio Armani's work, beautifully illustrating the evolution of his signature style. Iconic blazers and trouser suits, typical of the brand, were present, as well as more relaxed daytime models and elegant evening pieces. Together, they created a very harmonious effect, and it was fascinating to observe how Armani's sense of proportion, muted colours, and understated elegance, which feels timeless rather than trendy, recurred throughout.
